Thalapureeswarar Temple - Palm Fruit and child birth

Even a leaf, a flower or a drop of water offered with pure devotion is enough for god's grace.This advice is given by Lord Krishna in Bhagavad Geethai. A Palm fruit which is used as food when it is treated with fire is offered as a special thing for lord siva in a temple called Thalapureeswarar Temple.

Palm fruit is called in Tamil language as Panampalam.People who are having difficulties in getting a child worship lord siva in thalapureeswarar temple situated in a place called thirupanankadu in thiruannamalai district.This temple is said to be more than 1000 years old.

 Lord siva is having who have two forms as thalapuresswarar and Girubapureeswarar .People come around Palm tree inside the temple to get married soon.There is a pond called jadagangai theertham which is formed during agathiar worshipped lord siva here which is having water in all seasons.Amman is called as amirthavalli.

The temple is situated at a distance of  1 km from thirupanankadu.Thirupanankadu is at a distance of 15 kms from kanchipuram.
